Andrew Charles Kravchenko, an American born Russian, was born on October 20th, 1990 in Long Island, New York. At an early age Andrew showed great interest in music when he began fiddling with his grandparent’s piano. His father, Walter, noticing his immediate talent, decided to buy him his first electric keyboard. Although Andrew didn’t fully pursue the piano, it was still a sign of things to come.
After years of recreationally playing piano, Andrew decided that it was time to find a new passion. During his freshman year at Miller Place High School, he started listening to classic rock music such as AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and most importantly, Van Halen. It was at this point that Andrew noticed how much he wanted to play guitar like Eddie Van Halen. Soon thereafter his father had rented him a beginner Stratocaster and booked him one guitar lesson a week. Immediately Andrew showed abnormally fast improvement in his playing after only a few lessons. After a few months of lessons, he decided that he wanted to continue improving on his own and from thereon became a mostly self-taught guitarist.
At 16 years old, in his junior year, he prepared Eddie Van Halen’s classic solo rock piece, Eruption, for his school’s Variety Show. This led him to being one of the most recognized guitarists in school. During his college years, Andrew took his classic rock style and began to sit down and write his own music. He was studying business management but had no true direction. It was around this time that he picked up some roadie gigs for a DJ and entertainment company that his friend Jeremy had been working for. It was on these gigs that he had the opportunity to meet the main MC of that company, Michael Coppola, vocalist, engineer, and founder of Get Open Studios. Upon meeting Michael and drummer Benny Rivera, Andrew was instantly welcomed to hang out at Michael’s self-built studio. They started forming ideas together and in no time at all, Andrew became the final link to the revolutionary rock band, The Senate.
